Naomi Joan Casler, born to Clarence and Jessie Wilson of Port Byron, NY, died peacefully on March 20,2019 at the Syracuse Home at McHarrie Place in Baldwinsville, NY. after a brief illness.  Naomi was wife to Edwin A. Casler who passed on 1/31/2008.  After briefly residing in Port Byron after their marriage, they moved to Levanna, NY where they raised four children, Richard E. Casler, now 70, of Lake George, NY, Cheryl Harrelson, now 68, of Siloam Springs, AR, David Casler, now 65, of Union Springs, NY, And Debra Mendoza, now 63, of Westcliff-on-Sea, England.  Naomi is further survived by eight grandchildren, Lindsay Casler-Browne, Bethany Hatef,  Debbie Lynn Jones, Marianne Tyer, Joshua Robinson, Michelle Lang, Christina Derleth, and Shawn McGuire, as well as  13 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Naomi was well known in the Union Springs area due to her employment at Barnes’s Big M Market and the Union Springs Shur Fine grocery stores, and was Deli Manager at one point for Tops Market in Auburn.  In 1985 she retired along with her husband and enjoyed wintering in Lakeland, Florida.  Naomi thoroughly enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her family, children, and grandchildren.  Thru her middle years she enjoyed and valued her time with her pet basset hound, Sebastian. She excelled at intricate embroidery crafting, was an excellent canasta card player, and was a master crossword puzzle solver.  She could tackle the most difficult of puzzles with what seemed, to most, to be with relative ease.
In lieu of a funeral service for Naomi, the family has opted for a Celebration of Life of Naomi with family and friends in August.  The family is requesting any donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, BrightFocus Foundation at Brightfocus.org in Naomi’s name for advancing the research being done on this debilitating disease.
May Naomi rest in peace alongside her loving husband, Edwin, for all eternity.

Cheryl & Family,
I was so sorry to read that your Mother passed away. We lost touch after so many years ago when I came to visit you and Debbie when you were visiting your Mom when she lived in Cayuga/Union Springs. Your last email to me I believe was when your husband Floyd passed away which was so heartbreaking.
I would love to hear from you to see how you are doing. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.

Mary Ann
