Auburn – William H. Guy, (B.G. – Big guy), 71 of Auburn/Port Byron, passed away on Monday, Sept. 19th, 2016 at his daughters home in Montezuma with loved ones by his side.

Bill was born in Auburn NY on December 12, 1944 to the late Burt and Martha (Bartlett) Guy.  He served his country in the Navy during Vietnam.  He was a heavy equipment operator / construction worker for many years.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors.  Sports – including bowling, golfing, racing, and football were also his hobbies.  He had a passion for always giving to his local American Legion Posts – from being a Commander, bartending, cooking, organizing, and arranging what-ever needed to be done; you didn’t have to ask – Big Guy was “there”.

Bill is survived by his soul-mate of 9 years, Sherry Mendoza; his daughter Billie Jo Eldridge, David & Amy; his sisters

Roberta Green (Martin), Patricia Boehly (Michael) ;  Grandchildren Angelica Seamans, Ryan, Quinton, and Taylor

Eldridge.  Plus his extended family Colleen and Chris Field, and their children Bryanna Corp, Danielle and Cassidy Field;  Dan and Erin Wilbur, their children Teagan and Evelyn (his cutie patootie).  Jay Cottet and his children Jenna and Katelyn.  Along with all his friends at the SK Post Legion that he considered his family.  

In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brother Richard Guy and his sister Barbara (Guy) Phillips.

Friends may come to call and pay their respects on Sunday September 25, 2016 from 2pm – 5pm at Audioun Funeral Home, 218 Main St. Port Byron, NY 13140; following will be a gathering at the SK Post American Legion Auburn NY.

Contributions in memory of William H. Guy may be made to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Drive, Auburn NY 13021

Bill’s family would like to thank their friends and family, Kathleen Bergan, R.N. and the entire Hospice staff for their care, compassion and support through-out Bill’s illness.
